Historic Homes & Buildings
While walking the grounds of our museum, you will be able to visit buildings and homes dating between the 1660's (Cooper House--home of one of America's greatest inventors) and 1875 (Bach Blacksmith Shop). All of these structures are original, and are the real gems of our museum.
We have 19 historic homes and buildings from all over Long Island and from all backgrounds of life. There's the home of a bayman, a farmer, a tailor, a hat shop, a general store, a Methodist church, and a schoolhouse to list a few. Not to mention the many other original structures on-site including outhouses, barns, and more!
*Please note that not every building is accessible for tours every day. Additionally, buildings may close throughout the day as designated for other museum operational needs.*
